Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation officially issued the new national standard GB/T 18656-2025 Identification of Terminals in Industrial Systems. Adopting the core technical requirements of international standard IEC 61666:2021 equivalently, this regulation will be fully enforced nationwide starting from May 1, 2026.
The new standard unifies the key specifications of terminal code compilation, marking printing, drawing labeling and nameplate regulations across the whole industry, covering mainstream fields such as industrial electrical control, mechanical equipment, building power distribution, process automation, new energy and energy storage. It further refines terminal coding logic and visual marking rules, which can effectively reduce on-site wiring errors, improve equipment operation and maintenance efficiency, enhance electrical safety protection, and help complete machine enterprises pass domestic and foreign third-party inspections and project acceptance smoothly.
